Equations are given which can be used for calculating characteristics of Cardan universal joint when operating angle is small; 3 factors to be considered; inertia excitation, torsional excitation, and secondary couple forces; facts which must be known to determine satisfactory application include installation and experience factors; examination of these factors for highway truck type of application.
