New line 170 mi long, is extension of branch to Deesa from Palanpur, on meter gage main line between Ahmedabad and Delhi; Gandhidham will be terminus until completion of port of Kandla which is being constructed to handle traffic formerly routed to Karachi, which Partition gave to Pakistan.
