Ship model tests in flumes; flume built by firm of J. M. Voith for better observation of flow conditions round ship models driven by Voith-Schneider propellers; layout permits use of smaller models than usually employed and enables flow conditions to be studied in way scarcely possible in tanks where model moves forward while water remains stationary.
