New tractors are derived from two current Ford agricultural models which are equipped with either diesel or gasoline engines; they include Model 3400 tractor, Model 4400 tractor, Model 3500 and Model 4500 tractor; latter is discussed to reveal engineering development principles applicable to all four models; concept for tractor was to power front end loader and rear mounted backhoe; three industrial transmission options provide ground speeds and gear selection features applicable to loader stockpiling, grading, backfilling, transport and power-take-off operations; description of loader backhoe equipment.
