Information on arrangement and construction of new Canadian subway, where rubber-tired trains run on precast concrete tracks, and on design of stations, with notes on dimensions and features of cars; steel wheels and steel rails provide guidance if tire of security wheel deflates accidentally, and whenever train negotiates switches and crossings; system is entirely underground; about 70% of line was tunneled through rock, remainder being cut-and-cover construction; cars have 36 ft 6 in. wheelbase, are 8 ft 3 in. wide; decoration changes for different stations, platform entrances are guarded by hydraulically operated gate, etc.
