AbstractThermocapillary convection has been numerically studied in a system of two finite, superposed layers of immiscible liquids, in a configuration similar to that of an encapsulated crystal growth. The flow is driven by gradients in surface tension on the interface between the liquids and also on the free surface of the upper liquid.
