Abstract After a brief discussion on the processing of the data and on their expected accuracy, the paper presents some results which are mostly describing the neutral density of the thermosphere in terms of dependence on local time and altitude. Although partial and preliminary, the data set allows the determination of the midnight density bulge shape in the altitude range of 258–400 km. The comparison of the “statistical” profiles with the “instantaneous” ones shows the presence of relatively fast variations; in addition, wavelike dynamic phenomena are evident in some passes in the night sector of the atmosphere.
