The January issue of Aircraft Engineering contained a comprehensive account of the inertial activities of British companies (Ref. 2) including descriptions of the various gyros, accclerometers and platforms currently being manufactured. Although the inertial activities of Ferranti Ltd. were covered and the Ferranti type 100 intermediate stable platform was described in detail, only passing mention was made of the Ferranti lightweight platform. This article rectifies that omission.
