WE write at a time when the news of the first successes of the long-range Bristol Britannia is coming in. B.O.A.C.'s inaugural non-stop flight from London to New York under adverse conditions will do much to make people forget the hard words which have been said about the Britannia in recent months. The daily Press has duly pointed out that with the severe head winds prevailing the fact that the aircraft was only—however many minutes it was—late, was a considerable achievement.
