By December last year, production requirements dictated that subcontractor Richard Arnold & Co. should install a new horizontal CNC machining centre. As the company specialises in the manufacture of precision parts from aluminium and steel in batches between 20 and 100 for the aerospace industry, both versatility and jig-boring accuracy were required, and after seriously considering three machines, the company finally opted for the Yamazaki H15, an 11kW 630mm cube machine with 40-station tool magazine, twin pallet changer, and full 4-axis CNC.
