A support system for a roof cover, such as a tarp, for an open-topped container that has a support base and sidewalls upstanding from opposite sides of the base, such as a cargo carrying body of a top-loadable vehicle comprising a top loadable truck, trailer or the like. The support system includes a plurality of elongate supports each having a first end mountable in relation to one or other of the sidewalls by a connection enabling the support, when so mounted, to swing on an upstanding axis between a support position, in which the support bridges an opening between the sidewalls, and an access-enabling position in which the support is disposed along and adjacent to the sidewall on which it is mounted. The support system preferably also includes a drive mechanism engageable with each elongate support and operable to swing each support between the support and access-enabling positions. 06/09/19, complete specification, 24 0e clii
