Systems and methods of arranging spring elements into assemblies that can function as near steady, if not fully constant force springs are described and claimed. Standard acting (i.e. Hooke's Law [ F=Kx ] Obeying springs designated HLO springs, are combined in various manners to produce constant force spring assemblies of widely varying sizes effects and functions. Whether compression or extension or whatever form factor or manner of construction, spring assembles according to the present invention function as steady if not constant force machines, even against varying surfaces. Includes uses of said springs in varying applications.
