An aircraft spring assembly (10) includes a helical spring (12) having a hollow core (12c). A polymer damping member (16) is confined within the core (12c) and is narrower than the internal spring diameter so as to be free to move along the core (12c). The damping member being longer than the distance between adjacent coils of the spring when the spring is in a fully extended condition, such that the damping member is confined to the hollow core as the spring moves between extended and contracted conditions.

    Un ensemble de ressort daéronef (10) comprenant un ressort hélicoïdal (12) ayant un noyau creux (12c) est décrit. Un élément amortisseur en polymère (16) est confiné à lintérieur du noyau creux (12c) et est plus étroit que le diamètre de lélément amortisseur de telle sorte que lélément amortisseur peut se déplacer librement le long du noyau creux (12c). Lélément amortisseur est plus long que la distance entre des spires adjacentes du ressort lorsque le ressort est complètement étiré, de sorte que lélément amortisseur est confiné au noyau creux lorsque le ressort passe dun état étiré à un état contracté.
