The invention provides a reminding system for preventing motor vehicle green-light following intersection blocking. The speed of a motor vehicle over a stop line is detected, the passing time required by passing through an intersection at the speed of the vehicle motor is calculated, the remaining time of the current green light in the releasing direction is monitored in real time, and if the required passing time is longer than the remaining time of the green light, the motor vehicle is reminded through a reminding unit not to enter the intersection. By means of the mode, the vehicle can be reminded not to enter the intersection in a reminding mode when the intersection is to be blocked, the phenomenon that when the intersection is to be blocked, the motor vehicle continuously carries out following after a driver views the green light can be effectively avoided accordingly, and smoothness of the intersection in the non-blocked direction is guaranteed.
