The invention aims at providing an improved torsion beam rear axle and a welding stress reducing method thereof to reduce risks of fatigue failure of welded joints of the torsion beam rear. The improved torsion beam rear axle comprises a cross beam and a longitudinal beam, wherein the cross beam is an opening V-shaped beam. The improved torsion beam rear axle is characterized in that skirt portions at two ends of the cross beam open outward relative to the middle of the cross beam; two ends of the cross beam extends downward relative to the middle of the cross beam; gaps are formed in bottoms at two ends of the cross beam and a longitudinal beam welding position.
