The invention relates to the technical field of ship manufacturing, in particular to a hydraulic system for a steering engine of a glass fiber reinforced plastic ship. The hydraulic system comprises a hydraulic oil pump, a motor, an oil tank, a hydraulic reversing valve and a bidirectional hydraulic oil cylinder. The hydraulic system is characterized in that the hydraulic oil pump is driven by the motor; a liquid outlet of the hydraulic oil pump and a liquid inlet of the hydraulic oil pump are respectively connected with a liquid inlet of the bidirectional hydraulic oil cylinder and a liquid outlet of the bidirectional hydraulic oil cylinder through a guide pipe; the hydraulic reversing valve is arranged on the guide pipe; a liquid inlet of the oil tank and a liquid outlet of the oil tank are connected to the guide pipe in series through a liquid guide pipe so as to form a hydraulic loop; telescopic rods of the bidirectional hydraulic oil cylinder are connected with a left transmission handle and a right transmission handle. Through the use of the hydraulic system disclosed by the invention, a limited space in the ship is greatly saved; the hydraulic system has the advantages of compact structure, space conservation, low noise, flexible movement and the like, is convenient to mount and maintain, and is particularly suitable for a glass fiber reinforced plastic yacht and a glass fiber reinforced plastic mosquito boat.
