The invention provides a method for rapidly mapping the road position of a vehicle. The method includes the steps: 1 forming a primary range rectangular screening box of each city according to the administrative division range of each city, and screening the road position of the vehicle by the primary range rectangular screening box to obtain the city corresponding to the road position; 2 forming a road in the city by a plurality of limited line sections in a road database, forming a secondary range rectangular frame by the line sections, and enabling longitudes and latitudes of the road position of the vehicle to pass the secondary range rectangular frame to obtain the line sections corresponding to the road position; 3 acquiring the vertical projection distance between the road position of the vehicle and each line section, enabling the road position of the vehicle to correspond to the line sections according to the vertical projection distance and comparative analysis of a direction formed by two projection points at adjacent times of the vehicle and the trend of the road, and issuing road condition information of the road and peripheral roads to the vehicle by an intelligent traffic information service center. The position of the vehicle can be rapidly mapped and positioned when system resource requirements are low.
