The invention provides a method and system for rapidly switching battery packs of an electric vehicle. The method comprises the steps that the first battery pack and the second batter pack which can be independently used as a power source are arranged on the electric vehicle, the output end of the first battery pack and the output end of the second battery pack are connected in parallel, and when the SOC of the first battery pack supplying power currently is smaller than a preset threshold value, the second battery pack supplies power through switching. By the adoption of the method and system for rapidly switching the battery packs of the electric vehicle, the problem that in the prior art, the mileage of the electric vehicle is short is effectively solved.
