The invention relates to a moped capable of being powered by gravitational potential energy. The moped capable of being powered by the gravitational potential energy comprises a stool subassembly, a rear supporting rod, a front supporting rod and a gravitational potential energy converting system, wherein the gravitational potential energy converting system is arranged at the lower end of the stool subassembly, is fixedly connected with the front supporting rod and is movably connected with the rear supporting rod; and a vibration isolation device is arranged between the rear side of the stool subassembly and the rear supporting rod. By the gravitational potential energy converting system, gravitational potential energy which is generated during pitching of the moped can be utilized and is converted into kinetic energy for driving the moped to advance, the energy utilization rate is greatly improved, and energy consumption of the moped is reduced; and moreover, a power outputting shaft can rotate reversely, and the moped can move backwards.
