The invention discloses a recognition method for numbers of motor train units entering a motor train station. The method comprises the steps that 1, the states of station inlet station tracks are detected, whether the station tracks are switched from being locked to being occupied is detected, if yes, whether a motor train receiving inlet path from the occupied station inlet station tracks to a parking station track inside the motor train station exists or not is detected and the second step is carried out, and if not, recognition is ended; 2, if the motor train receiving inlet path exists, whether the motor train receiving inlet path is an inlet path entering a maintenance section or not is detected and the third step is carried out, and if the motor train receiving inlet path does not exist, recognition is ended; 3, if the motor train receiving inlet path is not the inlet path entering the maintenance section, entering-station plans are traversed, and if yes, recognition is ended; 4, whether the planned parking track is consistent with the motor train receiving station or not is searched, and if yes, an entering-station motor train unit with the planned entering-station time nearest to the current time is searched, and the fifth step is carried out; 5, if the entering-station motor train unit is found, the number of the motor train is recognized, and if not, recognition is ended. The motor train station real-time station field pattern information of a system is monitored in a signal concentration mode, and the recognition of the numbers of the motor train units is achieved by combination with the current operation task plans.
