The invention relates to a vehicle having an n-phase electric machine, a first onboard power subsystem (BN1) and a second onboard power subsystem (BN2), wherein the electric machine comprises a rotor and a stator system (1), the first onboard power subsystem comprises an inverter (2), the stator system is assigned to the inverter, and the electric machine can be operated according to the principle of field-oriented control using an inverter regulator in such a manner that the stator system is configured in a star connection, the star point is connected to the second onboard power subsystem or can be connected to the second onboard power subsystem via a star point switch (5), the inverter regulator comprises a current regulator and a star point regulator, the current regulator regulates phase currents of the stator system, and the star point regulator regulates a star point current.
