The invention discloses a car backing track describing method. The method comprises the steps that ground coordinates of a car backing track line are obtained in real time on the basis of the current steering angle of a steering wheel of a car according to pre-calibrated car characteristic parameters; the obtained ground coordinates of the car backing track line are described in a constructed car backing scene, wherein the car backing scene is the 3D scene constructed by car backing videos obtained in real time through OpenGL ES; described plane images of the car backing track line are output and overlaid on the car backing videos and then displayed through a display screen. The invention further discloses a car backing track describing device. By the adoption of the car backing track describing method and device, the calibration steps are simple, and the car backing track describing efficiency and accuracy can be effectively improved.
