The escalator body comprises an escalator main body, driving wheels, an exit inductor, an exit end, a framework, transparent glass, foot treadles, an entrance inductor and an entrance end. The framework is arranged on the escalator main body and is provided with the transparent glass. The entrance end is arranged at the bottom of the escalator main body. The entrance inductor is arranged on one side of the entrance end and provided with a second infrared inductor. The exit end is arranged on the top of the escalator main body. The exit inductor is arranged on one side of the exit end and provided with a first infrared inductor. The driving wheels are arranged in the framework. The foot treadles are arranged on the framework. The energy-saving device of the escalator achieves the purposes that the escalator runs when people stand on the escalator and stops when nobody stands on the escalator, and accordingly electric energy is saved.
