The invention provides a novel electric bicycle. The novel electric bicycle comprises a multi-power supply changeover device, wherein the multi-power supply changeover device comprises electromagnetic relays, a plurality of groups of batteries, multi-gear changeover switches matched with the batteries in number, and a power supply circuit for supplying power to the electric bicycle; and every two groups of the batteries are both connected with the input end of the power supply circuit of the electric bicycle through one electromagnetic relay. The novel electric bicycle further comprises a battery placement box, wherein the battery placement box is located below an electric bicycle pedal plate between a handlebar and a seat; the battery placement box comprises a battery placement box cover and a battery placement box body, and line passing holes are formed in the side end of the battery placement box body. According to the novel electric bicycle provided by the invention, due to the integral matching among the electromagnetic relays, the plurality of groups of batteries, the multi-gear changeover switches matched with the batteries in number, and the power supply circuit for supplying power to the electric bicycle, changeover for a power supply can be realized; and because changeover for every two groups of batteries can be controlled by using one electromagnetic relay, the realization cost of the whole changeover device is saved.
