A camera orientation detecting device comprises a monitoring camera (32) for the boom tip and a monitor (70) that displays a captured image of a hook suspended from the boom tip, said camera orientation detecting device being provided with an orientation angle calculating device (68) that finds the orientation angle of a camera on the basis of on-screen hook image position information displayed on the monitor (70) and hook position information in real space. The orientation angle calculating device (68) has a hook position calculating unit (63) that finds the actually displayed hook position on the screen of the monitor (70), a displacement calculating unit (64) that finds the difference between the hook position found by the hook position calculating unit (63) and a reference hook position of the hook on the screen displayed on the monitor (70) when assuming the camera is facing directly downward, and a camera tilt angle calculating unit (65) that finds the tilt angle of the monitoring camera (32) on the basis of the difference and the vertical distance from the center position of the optical axis of the monitoring camera (32) to the hook.
