A multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle with an emergency braking device comprises a multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle body (1) and the emergency braking device (2) arranged on the multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle body (1). The emergency braking device (2) comprises a signal monitoring module (3) and an emergency braking module (4), wherein the signal monitoring module (3) is used for monitoring whether the multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle body (1) continuously receives flying control signals. The emergency braking module (4) comprises a flying state monitoring unit (5) and an inertia compensation unit (6). The flying state monitoring unit (5) is used for measuring flying state data of the multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle. An emergency braking method includes the steps that when the signal monitoring module (3) judges that the multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle body (1) does not receive the flying control signals, the inertia compensation unit (6) receiving the flying state data adjusts the inertia of the multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle so that the multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle can enter a hovering state.
