The invention discloses a signal priority control system for a bus cluster specialized lane and a method thereof. The signal priority control system comprises a bus specialized lane, a bus specialized inlet lane, a parking line vehicle passing detecting device, a road segment vehicle passing detecting device, a vehicle information processing device, a signal lamp control device and a signal lamp. According to the signal priority control system, a control device is used for comparing a number N of actual queuing vehicles in the bus specialized inlet lane with a number Nav of queuing buses in each average signal period. When N is larger than or equal to Nav, a request is transmitted to the signal control device for requesting the signal control device to start a green lamp in advance or insert a phase, thereby realizing high signal priority of the buses in the inlet lane. The signal priority control system has advantages of simple operation, high flexibility, high convenience, relatively high efficiency, and high practicability. The signal priority control system further has functions of greatly facilitating vehicle passing management, reducing waiting time wastage, improving vehicle passing efficiency and obtaining high social benefit and high economic benefit.
