A connecting apparatus for connecting a fragrance container to an electrical device for emitting fragrance in a motor vehicle is described, said connecting apparatus having a fragrance container which has a connecting surface with a spring-loaded valve plate, and having a connecting adapter which is arranged on the device and which opens the valve plate on the connected fragrance container, wherein the connecting adapter has a first component which is fixed in relation to the device, and wherein the connecting adapter has a second component which can be pivoted against the first component counter to the force of at least one spring and can be connected to the connecting surface of the fragrance container.
