The invention discloses an energy storage and release control method for a flywheel in an electric automobile. The method includes the steps that the opening degree of a brake pedal and the mapping relation between the advancing gear of a transmission and the rotating speed of the flywheel are set in an automatic gearbox control unit in the electric automobile; a transmission system of the electric automobile detects the opening degree information of the brake pedal and sends the opening degree information to the automatic gearbox control unit; after the automatic gearbox control unit identifies the current advancing gear information, the corresponding flywheel rotating speed is adjusted through the automatic gearbox control unit according to the mapping relation; and the energy storage and release processes of the flywheel can be achieved. By means of the method, energy is stored and released accurately for the electric automobile in the running process, and electric energy is saved.
