The invention relates to a guide rail height adjusting device and method as well as an escalator. The guide rail height adjusting device comprises a bracket connected with a guide rail support plate, a screw rod connected with a guide rail and a through hole formed in the position where the bracket and the screw rod are opposite, wherein one end, far away from the guide rail, of the screw rod penetrates through the through hole; a first nut and a second nut are arranged on the screw rod, the first nut is located on the upper side of the bracket, and the second nut is located on the lower side of the bracket. When the guide rail is adjusted downwards, the first nut is screwed upwards, then the second nut is screwed upwards, the screw rod bears the downward pull force, and the screw rod moves downwards under the action of the pull force and drives the guide rail connected with the screw rod to move downwards; when the guide rail is adjusted upwards, the second nut is screwed downwards, then the first nut is screwed downwards, the screw rod bears upward jacking force, and the screw rod moves upwards under the action of the jacking force and drives the guide rail connected with the screw rod to move upwards. Compared with a traditional mode, a gasket is not required to be increased or decreased, the operation is simpler and more convenient, besides, the height adjustment is more accurate, and stepless regulation can be realized.
