The invention discloses a propelling device for a ship, which comprises a supporting column, wherein the upper end of the supporting column is connected with a rotary assembly connected with the ship;the front side of the supporting column is provided with a front-end fin; the rear side of the supporting column is provided with a rear-end fin; the lower end of the supporting column is connected with a driving motor shell; a driving motor is arranged in the driving motor shell; a propeller connected with the driving motor is arranged on the rear side of the driving motor shell; a fixed flow guide plate and a first movable flow guide plate are arranged on the rear-end fin; a groove cavity is formed in the rear-end fin; a first motor is arranged in the groove cavity; the output end of the first motor is connected with a rotating shaft; and the end of the rotating shaft is connected with the first movable flow guide plate. When propelling device for the ship is used, along with the increase of the navigation speed of the ship, the service life of the propelling device is prolonged and large vibration generated by the supporting columns is reduced due to the arrangement of the fixed flow guide plate and the first movable flow guide plate. Meanwhile, the propelling device is provided with the heat dissipation holes, so that the high effect of the propelling device is improved, and then the service life of the propelling device is prolonged.
