The method comprises the steps of acquiring a first display mode of a streaming media rearview mirror in a current state; receiving a controller area network CAN signal, and determining a second display mode corresponding to a mode setting word according to the mode setting word in the CANsignal; and if the second display mode is inconsistent with the first display mode, indicating the streaming media rearview mirror to switch the display mode to the second display mode, and displayinga picture content corresponding to the second display mode on the streaming media rearview mirror. In the invention, blind areas near a vehicle body can be eliminated, automatic switching of multipledisplay modes in different driving states is achieved, and mode switching flexibility and applicability are high.
