The invention discloses an unmanned submarine device for water quality monitoring and a method thereof. The device comprises an unmanned submarine. The unmanned submarine comprises a propeller drivingmechanism and an electric steering engine, and the propeller driving mechanism and the electric steering engine are disposed in the unmanned submarine. The propeller driving mechanism is used for enabling a shore worker to control advancing and left-right steering of the unmanned submarine by using a remote controller; and the electric steering engine is used for enabling a shore worker to control floating and diving of the unmanned submarine by using the remote controller. The unmanned submarine device for water quality monitoring further comprises a water quality monitoring device. The water quality monitoring device comprises a water temperature sensor, a dissolved oxygen sensor, an ammonia nitrogen sensor, a PH sensor, a salinity sensor and a controller. Defects that in the prior art,when manually-used monitoring equipment is used for sampling water quality, a workload is large, time and labor are wasted, monitored data are limited and only limited to a very shallow part below awater meter, monitoring of the water bottom can not be achieved and the data is not comprehensive are effectively overcome.
