An intelligent signal control method for passively prioritizing pedestrians comprises the following steps that 1, inputting preset initial green light time of each phase, and detecting whether vehicles pass through corresponding lanes or not and corresponding conditions of traffic flow through a vehicle detector; 2, sequentially operating each phase, prolonging the green light time on the basis ofincreasing the initial green light time of the motor vehicle of the corresponding lane when a continuous vehicle passes through, and entering the next phase according to the initial green light timeif no traffic flow passes through; and 3, setting the maximum green light time of each phase, entering an indicator light changing stage under any condition after the maximum green light time is reached, obtaining induction signal parameters in real time, preparing to enter the next phase, and continuing to repeat the operation above in the next phase. The method can guarantee the rights and interests of pedestrians at the intersection, completely meets the passing demands of motor vehicles in the peak period and the flat peak period, and also adapts to the condition where the traffic volume fluctuation of the motor vehicles is large.
