The invention belongs to the field of energy supply systems, particularly relates to a rail type charging system based on a power supply rail, and aims to solve the problem of configuration flexibility of charging equipment of an electric vehicle charging station. The rail type charging system comprises charging equipment, rails, a walking device, and a power supply rail. The walking device is less than the charging equipment; the rails comprises a first rail and one or more second rails arranged at the parking charging positions; the second rail is communicated with the first rail through a rail switching device; the power supply rail is connected with an external power supply device and arranged along the rail; the walking device comprises a driving device and a first walking wheel set.The charging equipment is provided with a second walking wheel set matched with the rails; the walking device and the charging equipment are respectively provided with matched connecting devices; andthe walking device and the charging equipment are respectively provided with a power receiving boot. According to the invention, any charging equipment can be allocated along the rails, and the flexibility of charging equipment scheduling of the charging station system is improved.
