The embodiment of the invention discloses an electric vehicle mileage verification method, which is used for verifying the total mileage of a vehicle displayed by a vehicle instrument system. The method comprises steps of the current total charging amount of the electric vehicle being obtained; acquiring unit mileage power consumption of the electric vehicle; calculating the actual mileage of theelectric vehicle based on the unit mileage power consumption and the total charging amount of the electric vehicle; judging whether the difference value between the actual mileage of the electric vehicle and the instrument mileage of the electric vehicle is greater than a preset value or not; and if the actual mileage of the electric vehicle and the instrument mileage of the electric vehicle are greater than the preset value, sending an error prompt to the user. According to the method, whether the actual mileage is greater than the preset value or not is compared with the instrument mileage,and if yes, the error prompt is returned to the user, so that the user can judge whether the mileage information displayed by the instrument system has errors or not, and the method for judging the authenticity of the mileage information displayed by the instrument system is provided.
