The invention relates to a hybrid boom tail end posture linear control system and method. The system comprises a controller, a rotary table encoder, a rotary table, a proportional multi-way valve set,a bracket, a telescopic arm encoder, a telescopic arm, a telescopic arm oil cylinder, a telescopic displacement sensor, a folding arm oil cylinder, a folding arm encoder, a folding arm, a platform encoder, a platform inside and outside overturning mechanism, a platform left and right swinging mechanism, a platform front and back overturning mechanism, a platform inclination angle sensor, a pitching oil cylinder, a control cabinet, and a control panel and the like. The method specifically comprises the following steps of 1) settling track coordinates by using an adjacent point recursion difference approximation algorithm; 2) judging whether the tail end position is in a safe range; and 3) controlling the linear motion of a boom. The system and the method have the advantages of intelligently realizing the linear motion of the tail end posture of the hybrid boom, meeting the operation requirements in a special environment, simplifying the operation process, improving the operation efficiency and ensuring the operation safety.
