The method ischaracterized by at least comprising two or more stages of point switch motors, and a control circuit is arranged between the two stages of point switch motors; the control circuit is used for enabling two or more stages of point switch motors to be driven by a three-phase power supply in a time-sharing manner; the control circuit is a relay; the relay comprises a power supply driving terminal and three groups of switch contacts; the power supply driving terminal of the relay is electrically connected with the output terminal of the power supply unit; and the three groups of switch contacts are respectively connected in series between the power supply terminals of the front-stage point switch motor and the rear-stage point switch motor. According to the power supply unit and method of themulti-machine traction turnout switching controller, sequential starting of multiple circuits can be achieved under the condition that an external power source is not added to the multi-machine traction turnout switching controller.
