The invention particularly discloses a crane and a self-adaption method of the crane arm length and the steel wire rope length thereof. The method comprises the following steps that S1, a detection unit is used for measuring the crane arm length and the steel wire rope length of the crane in the initial hoisting state; S2, the crane is controlled to start hoisting operation, and meanwhile the detection unit is used for measuring the crane arm length change value of the crane in the hoisting operation process; and S3, the corresponding steel wire rope length change value is calculated according to the crane arm length change value in the hoisting operation process, and then the steel wire rope length is adjusted in the hoisting operation process according to the steel wire rope length change value, so that self-adaption of the crane arm length and the steel wire rope length is achieved. The change value of the steel wire rope length is calculated by measuring the crane arm length change value in the hoisting process, then the steel wire rope length is adjusted to adapt to the change of the crane arm length in the hoisting process, and self-adaption of the crane arm length and the steel wire rope length is achieved.
