The sound insulating material for a vehicle of the present invention comprises: a core layer 10 in which cylindrical cells 20 are arranged in a plurality of rows; an air-impermeable resin film layer 40 provided on one surface of the core layer; and a decoupling layer 30 provided on the outside of the resin film layer, wherein cell ends on the one surface of the core layer have a closed surface 21 and an open end 22 in every other row, and cell ends on the other surface of the core layer have open ends in a row in which the cell ends on the one surface have a closed surface, and have closed surfaces in a row in which the cell ends on the one surface are open ends, the internal space of the cell communicates with the outside through the open end, and the average of (P/v)/Za expressed by the sound pressure P and the particle velocity v on the surface opposite to the core layer of the air-impermeable resin film layer provided on the core layer and the acoustic impedance Za of the decoupling layer is 2.8-10 between 500 Hz and 6400 Hz.
