A rubber composition for tread in which the styrene butadiene rubber content is 10% by mass or higher and the butadiene rubber content is 10% by mass or higher in 100% by mass of a rubber component, the absolute value |deltaHs| of the change in hardness before and after heat aging satisfies formula (1), and the absolute value |delta Swell| of the change in swell before and after heat aging satisfies formula (2). Formula 1: |delta Hs| <= 3.0 Formula 2: |delta Swell| <= 20%.
