The variable speed transmission system comprises two transmission mechanisms. Each transmission mechanism comprises a driving gear, a driven gear and a clutch. The driving gears and the driven gears are meshed with one another, and at least one of the driving gears and the driven gears is arranged at the output end of the corresponding clutch in a sleeving mode; the driving gears of the two transmission mechanisms are coaxially arranged and are in shaft connection, and the driven gears of the two transmission mechanisms are used for driving the differential mechanism; and the outer diameters of the driving gears of the two transmission mechanisms are different. According to the embodiment of the invention, the two transmission mechanisms can select one of the transmission mechanisms to transmit power through the clutch action of the clutch. The driven gears of the two transmission mechanisms are used for driving the differential mechanism, and in the process of switching the transmission mechanisms to transmit power, sliding friction of the clutch can transmit power, so that the power on the differential mechanism cannot be interrupted.
