The invention relates to the field of traffic signal control, and particularly discloses a traffic signal on-line control method of a road intersection. The method comprises the steps of acquiring key characteristic parameters of the road intersection, multivariate traffic flow real-time data, initial maximum green light time, initial minimum green light time and initial reference green light time of the key characteristic parameters; performing online response iterative learning according to the multivariate traffic flow real-time data and the initial reference green light time to obtain optimal real-time reference green light time; and comparing the release time of the current phase with the initial maximum green light time, the initial minimum green light time and the optimal real-time reference green light time, and determining a phase switching logic in combination with a red light queuing length threshold. According to the traffic signal on-line control method of the road intersection, traffic signal control of the road intersection can adapt to traffic changes, so that the passing efficiency is improved, and green light idle emission is reduced.
