The invention provides a charging pile and a charging method thereof. The method comprises the steps: an external three-phase AC power grid 380V is connected to an AC interface, a voltage regulation control module carries out rectification and voltage regulation of the current and voltage of the external three-phase AC power grid by controlling a silicon controlled rectifier module to a charging voltage value of a to-be-charged device, and signals are transmitted to the to-be-charged equipment for charging through the output interface. A boost circuit and a step-down circuit arranged in the prior art are removed, the phenomenon that heating is serious when the boost circuit and the step-down circuit conduct voltage regulation is overcome, a passive rectification module in the prior art is replaced by the silicon controlled rectifier module, rectification and voltage regulation can be conducted, and therefore power consumption is reduced, and the charging efficiency is improved.
