The power assembly of the hybrid electric vehicle comprises a power output mechanism and a speed change mechanism. The speed change mechanism comprises a speed change mechanism output shaft, a third planet row and a gear shifting assembly. The power output mechanism comprises a first driving assembly and a second driving assembly; a gear ring of the third planet row is connected with the transmission shell, a planet carrier of the third planet row is connected with an output shaft of the speed change mechanism, and an input shaft of the speed change mechanism is connected with a sun gear and the planet carrier of the third planet row through the gear shifting assembly. According to the power assembly of the hybrid electric vehicle, by means of the mode that the gear ring of the first planet row is directly connected with the output shaft, gears under the working condition that the engine drives the vehicle can be simplified, it is not affected that the engine is matched with the second motor to form a series-parallel gear, and due to the fact that the engine does not pass through the speed reduction and torque increasing actions of the third planet row, the power assembly is more stable. And a relatively high rotating speed can be stably provided for the output shaft.
