A control unit (110) for a heavy vehicle (100), the vehicle comprising an electric machine connected via a differential to a first drive wheel and a second drive wheel, the control unit (110) comprising a first wheel slip control module associated with the first drive wheel, and a second wheel slip control module associated with the second drive wheel, each wheel slip control module is arranged to determine an available torque for a respective wheel based on a current wheel state, where the control unit (110) is arranged to determine a required torque that meets an acceleration profile requested by the vehicle (100), and requesting, from a motor, a torque corresponding to a minimum one of the available torque and the required torque for each driving wheel.
