The present disclosure provides intelligent adaptive cruise control for light compromised conditions. A system includes a computer having a processor and a memory that stores instructions executable by the processor to operate in a standard mode of operation when an adaptive cruise control feature of a vehicle traveling on a road is set to operate in a standard mode of operation. Acquiring illumination condition data of a vehicle-mounted camera of the vehicle; determining whether the in-vehicle camera is subjected to a light-damaged condition based on the illumination condition data; and responsive to determining that the in-vehicle camera is subjected to the light impaired condition, operating the adaptive cruise control feature in a modified mode of operation, where the adaptive cruise control feature operates in accordance with one or more modified operating parameters during operation in the modified mode of operation.
