The invention relates to a conductive anti-icing coating system and method. A method includes depositing a conductive coating comprising a conductive material on a substrate to form a conductive layer having a sheet resistivity of about 10 [Omega]/sq to about 1000 [Omega]/sq. The method includes depositing an anti-ice layer comprising a nanomaterial on a conductive layer to form a coating system.
