A method of assembling an aircraft wing includes adhering a fuel dam to a stringer and adhering a fuel dam to a wing rib. The fuel dam includes a fuel dam body defining a channel designed to receive a portion of a stringer of an aircraft wing. The fuel dam body includes a stringer adhesion surface, a rib adhesion surface, and a pair of spaced apart flanges extending from the rib adhesion surface and positioned to protrude from the rib adhesion surface on opposite sides of the notch of the rib.
