The present disclosure provides a'buffered refueling system '. A refueling system has a fuel tank, a sealing member, a camera, and a controller. The fuel tank includes a main chamber. The sealing member is disposed between the main chamber and the atmosphere. The sealing member is configured to selectively move between a first position allowing fluid communication between the fuel tank and the atmosphere and a second position inhibiting fluid communication with the atmosphere. The camera is configured to retrieve an image of a fuel source within a predetermined proximity of the fuel tank. The controller is configured to actuate the sealing member in response to an evaluation of the image that fuel from the fuel source is available for consumption by the fuel tank.
